  20. Well, I'm afraid I can't help you on this specific model, but I was
  21. really suprised that nobody has mentioned Viva modems since I started
  22. following this group about 4 weeks ago.

  24. A friend of mine has a Viva 28.8k internal fax modem, and has had very
  25. little luck with it, only getting slow connects and multiple
  26. characters on screen etc.   I put it in my computer and did slightly
  27. better, after fiddling about for ages with it, in a rather
  28. non-scientific manner (i.e., I can't really say how I semi-sorted
  29. it!!!) I could get it up to 26400 on a TCP/IP link, but it was
  30. reluctant to hang up when closing the connection in Trumpet.

  32. However, back on my friends computer, same troubles showed up; he now
  33. has another make 28.8k which runs without problems, so it can't be the
  34. computer.

  51. it is known to give problems?   Any solutions?

  53. Sorry I haven't answered your question, only asked my own.   Maybe the
  54. Viva pocket modem is fine.
